The Coaches...
A native of Houston, Texas, Felicia Spivey started her high school career at Mirabeau B. Lamar. As an All-District selection, she had her most notable game in a bi-district playoff match. She ended up just shy of a triple double by scoring 35 points, grabbing 15 rebounds and making eight steals. She went on to play for the PVAMU Lady Panther Basketball Program from 1995-1999.
Felicia was SWAC 1st Team All -Conference (SWAC) in 1999 and lettered 4 years in basketball. She was the top rebounder in the conference for two consecutive years finishing in the top 10 both years overall in the nation. She ranked fifth in field goal percentage in the conference. Felicia led the Southwestern Athletic Conference with the most double-doubles during her collegiate career. Other notable honors include HBCU All-Star Basketball selection; SWAC Player of the Week honors; St. Louis University Coca-Cola Classic All-Tournament Player; PVAMU Most Valuable Player two consecutive years; Southwestern Athletic Conference honoree ranking first in all areas of rebounding (offensive, defensive and overall); ranked top ten in the nation for rebounding 1997-1999. She is currently a member of the 2005 inductee class into the Prairie View A&M University Sports Hall of Fame.
Following graduation, Felicia served as Prairie View’s Graduate Assistant Basketball Coach. Several years later she was named the first Head Coach for the PV Women’s Soccer Team inaugural season. While coaching soccer she served as the Assistant Coach for Women’s Basketball. After coaching for seven years on the collegiate level, she continued her coaching career at Eisenhower High School (2009 District Soccer Coach of the Year) and she is currently in her 18th year as a coach at Morton Ranch High School.
She graduated in December 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies Specializing in Reading. Shortly after she received a Masters of Education in both Educational Administration and Health Education.
