Played basketball for Westfield High School in Houston. Ranked 61st nationally in the Class of 2009 in ESPNU HoopGurlz Top 100, and was listed as the 12th-ranked shooting guard in the country. Played in the Greater Houston Area Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game after the season and claimed MVP honors after scoring 13 points, also played in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) All-Star Game. Carter went on to compete on a Division I scholarship at the University of Central Florida under Coach Joi Williams. While at UCF Carter's accolades and accomplishments include: All-Conference USA Second Team, became 16th Knight to score 1,000 career points and finished her career ranked No. 9 on UCF all-time leading scorers list with 1,111 points. Finished career ranked among UCF's top-10 leaders for career steals (175) and 3-point field goals made (94). Carter graduated with a Bachelors of Science, and has been coaching and training boys and girls in Orlando, FL prior to returning to Houston.
